Why Women Are Their Own Worst Enemy

Twisted Sisterhood?
An excerpt from The New York Times interview with Kelly Valen

Why do you think other women have the capacity to hurt us the most?

"Women have a different style of relating — we mean so much to each other. We're socialized from a very young age to trust one another. I believe the closer you are, the more at risk you are to be hurt.
We women swim in shark-infested waters of our own design. Often we don’t have a clue where we stand with one another — socially, as mothers, as colleagues — because we’re at once allies and foes."  -   Kelly Valen, Mother of Four Children, Lawyer, Published Author, and an Inspiration!

Jewel - Ten

....................... "Ten"- The latest single from Jewel's album, SWEET AND WILD.....................................

You can lose what you're not thankful for,
I don't want that to happen to you and me,
 Better count my blessings...
One, you still move me;
Two, three, you send chills right through me;
Four, you keep me wanted more;
 Five, when I look into your eye;
Six, you're my best friend;
Seven, that will never end;
 Eight, nine, I don't know why,
but thank God it happens every-time;
By the time I get to ten,
I can see how blessed I've been.
I'll chose you all over again...

Here's a .99 download link to this single, should you like it... and as a loyal Jewel fan for a strong decade now, one of her favorite books, Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, which inspired her rarely heard beautiful little ditty titled,

"1,000 Miles Away"
A teasing excerpt:

"The sun shines golden, and I feel like my car
a little run down, a little beat up, maybe just a little green
maybe it's my battery, maybe it's my starter,
maybe my heart's too weak"

Ode To Philosophy: A Dedication To The Entity

Ode To Philosophy: A Dedication to The Entity

by Alexandra Gulkin

Aristotle proposed that all things, any substance, exists in both matter and form, involving some form of unity that exists even without a physical location. This is the very principle which dictates the certainty of the existence of an entity, that matter and form are one and the same thing simultaneously.

As in:
I have 300 red bricks.
These bricks are substance.
By possessing these bricks, I possess the potentiality of a brick wall.
I build a wall out of my 300 red bricks. By doing so, I've turned potentiality into actuality.
